The purpose of this blog is to post assignments for my writing through media class offered at the University of Florida. This class will introduce me to what a classmate described as “the modern English course.” Each student will learn how in work in a world that is infiltrated with technology such as email, photoshop and blogs. I will post ten blogs through the course of the semester. My blogs will be posted every Friday by 5 pm unless otherwise instructed. The blogs will touch on a variety of different subjects that will require for me to express my opinions and/or viewpoints.
My name is Amy and I am currently a 4th year at the University of Florida. I originally registered for the course to complete a composition gen ed. However, after a week of taking this course I know that I will thoroughly enjoy learning about new ways that are being used to transmit media. I have always had an interest in writing, photography and have always wanted to start my own blog and not just follow one. I hope that by the end of the course I will know more about how to photoshop pictures and podcasts. I have always been interests in these subjects because they’ve become so popular these past few years that I feel like I need to be caught up to speed. I am not the most technology savvy person; therefore, my hope is to learn as much as I can from the class as well as my instructor and classmates.
I chose this picture because I feel that it shows the transition from writing on paper to blog writing very well. You can easily tell the contrast and see how far we have advanced as a society in reference to media and how we send out our information, which is exactly what has gained my interest in this class.
